JANET KUMAH- Plays Lead roles UD tribute to Whitney Houston and Tina Turner
Janet was born and raised in London, she trained as an actor and went on to play in fringe theatre and independent films. Her career as a singer developed alongside her acting.
Janet's passion for music started at a young age and in the years to come she would sing, write and tour with a host of bands playing Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Funk, World-music, Motown and Rocksteady.
Inevitably her love of singing and acting would merge and a successful career in Musical Theatre would follow. She received rave reviews for her role as Miss Sherman in The UK Tour of 'FAME' and also for her role as Kate in the London premiere of 'The Wild Party'. Previous theatre credits include Bluette in David Pugh’s 'The Official Tribute to The Blues Brothers' (European tour) and most recently as Motowns' Miss Tammi Terrell in the West End run of 'Dancing in the Streets'.
Janet currently tours in London and Europe with 'The Delegators', a band that fuses the sounds of Motown and Early Rocksteady. With a loyal following at home and abroad 2009 looks to be very promising for the 60's inspired blend of musicians, who mix old and new to electrify a music that grooves pulsating rhythms and enticing melodies.
