MARINA PRODUCTIONS- THE COMPANY

MARINA PRODUCTIONS

Marina Productions is a new company formed by business partners Jina Burrows and Marc Wigley, which provides production and technical/artistic services to organisations in the theatre and music industry.

Their music theatre production entitled Ultimate Divas is a product of the fusion of backgrounds from both partners; music, dance and theatre- a meeting of minds to create a spectacular extravaganza of technical and artistic showmanship, lined with ultimate professionalism and expertise from all members of their company.

JINA BURROWS - DIRECTOR
Backing Singer/ Soprano

Jina is currently directing/choreographing Afro-American inspired Musical Theatre Production with her company and show ‘Ultimate Divas’.

Jina is a teacher/ choreographer /musician, co-ordinating castings, shows, marketing strategies for commercial & non-commercial projects. Musical directing experience includes managing/assembling live bands for television, recording and composition of backing tracks, and writing arrangements for Commercial Music.

Jina was awarded a music scholarship and bursary, where she continued to be classically trained in piano, violin and voice, reaching the finals of Young Pianist of the Year. Jina is also a trained dancer, gaining ISTD certificates in Jazz, Tap, National, Modern, Ballet and BTEC National Diploma in Afro-Caribbean Dance at the BRIT School.

Theatre credits include Prissy in Gone With the Wind 2008, onstage swing soprano in Carmen Jones (RFH) 2007, featured classical vocalist in The Gospel According to Broadway (Hackney Empire) 2007, Lorraine in Boogie Nights (Milton Keynes) 2006 and Genie of the Ring in Aladdin (New Theatre Cardiff) 2005, featured vocalist in The Caribbean Carnival Extravaganza Tour 2004, The Wizard of Oz (RFH) 2008 ,featured vocalist in Thursford Xmas Spectacular 2008, Norfolk, Songs of Sister Act, (Leicester) 2009.

After session singing for EMI Records, Jina then fronted Hi-Gate, the band featuring Judge Jules and Paul Yomanda Masterson. Their debut single entered the UK charts at no. 6 in January 2000. They enjoyed repeat success with their follow up which entered at no. 12 in August 2000. She signed a one off single deal with AM:PM in March 1999 and a garage version of Another Sleepless Nite was released on the imprint of Diffusion Records.

Jina also fronted the house band Superfly in Channel 4’s Richard Blackwood Show and sung and co-wrote the theme tune, collaborating with writers from Strongsongs and Z Music Publishing Company for international recording artists. She has sung with many household names such as Mel B, Mel C, Donnel Jones, Lynden David Hall, Mosdef, TQ, LL Cool J, Artful Dodger and Public Enemy.

As a violinist she has performed with artists including Mary J Blige, Spiller, Robert Miles, Sonique, Jamiroquai and Jamelia.

Jina has toured with Victoria Beckham as a singer/dancer for her second and third single release. She performs in Motown soul groups, recently performing/vocal casting for George Benson (The Royal Albert Hall) and currently performs with Soul 2 Soul as a violinist/ backing singer for their live shows on the festival circuit.

Look out for Jina’s co-written song Back to Nature to be used in a US feature film under artist name Jinaz.

MARC WIGLEY – PRODUCER

Marc has worked as a creative technical manager and lighting designer for many varied companies throughout the United Kingdom over the past ten years, whilst also completing a BA (hons) degree in Lighting Design/Technical Theatre Arts at the Arden School of Theatre, Manchester University. 

His portfolio of work is extensive, working in top venues/events in the United Kingdom, including St Donats Arts Centre and Gawsworth Open Air Theatre festival, with companies such as the Disney Co-operation, Resonance Theatre Company, the Royal Exchange Theatre Company, Manchester, the Welsh National Opera, the Iconoclast Foundation and Mountview Conservatoire for the Performing Arts.
 
Previous work credits include resident senior technician/venue electrician for York Barbican Centre, receiving artists such as Atomic Kitten, Gabrielle and Take That, creative technical management for Doo Cot - Theatre of Objects and Figures, production management for Beyond The Border Storytelling Festival and the Vale of Glamorgan festival, lighting technician/design for Hollyoaks, Mersey Television, Liverpool and Romeo & Juliet, Arden Theatre, Manchester to name just a few.

Recent positions undertaken:- Resident production chargehand electrician for Cameron Mackintosh Ltd. On West-End production Mary Poppins, Prince Edward Theatre London, and as a resident senior production technician at the New Theatre Cardiff.

Marc is currently working as senior technician at the Walt Disney Theatre, aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Cruise Line. He has also produced The Afro-American influenced music theatre production entitled Ultimate Divas with his business partner Jina Burrows in their company entitled Marina Productions.
